:-) Great set of volume books for older youth with good reading skills. The pirate's life was short - when Bartholomew Roberts' crew were tried at Cape Coast Castle in 1722, the most experienced had only become pirates less than four years before, and the majority had been pirates for less than two years, which appears to have been the typical lifespan of a seaman who `followed the black flag'. I like hearing about history through the experience of a person who lived through it.
